A Message from the Creator of Healthy Handz, Megan Hendrix:

I am a senior Psychology major and as my ultimate research project, I created Healthy Handz to make handwashing for 20 seconds a habit for all children in the face of the H1N1 pandemic. Healthy Handz uses the best of modeling and behavioral techniques to reduce the psychological and behavioral barriers that prevent proper handwashing.

I want every household in the United States with children between the ages of 2 and 10 to have Healthy Handz. If they cannot buy one, we here at Healthy Handz want to give them one. In order for us to do this, we need people to buy Healthy Handz because we are using 50% of our profits to give Healthy Handz to children who cannot afford it. This is why we say “From our hands to yours, from your hands to theirs.”

Let Healthy Handz be the voice in your children’s heads as they go through the day. The reminders are out there, the peer pressure for handwashing is building, and the stakes are incredibly high! Let’s bridge the gap between theory and practice and help you give your children the habit of proper handwashing!
